About Me
Greetings! My name is Eric Liputra, a dedicated and enthusiastic professional driven by a passion for overcoming challenges and continuous learning. My journey in the ever-evolving realm of information technology started during my high school years, where I discovered a profound curiosity for coding and web development. Despite limited resources, I embarked on a self-taught journey, mastering skills ranging from basic Blogspot customization to crafting intricate WordPress themes. As a team player, I thrive in collaborative environments while also possessing the independence to tackle tasks autonomously.
“The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.” - Steve jobs
My Story
I was born in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia, in June 1995.
2011 — Where It All Began
My passion for technology started with a simple Blogspot website. Learning HTML and CSS through blogging quickly turned into an obsession with understanding how websites worked. Despite limited resources, I spent countless hours experimenting, learning from online communities, and eventually progressed from modifying templates to building complete WordPress themes. Looking back, this was where my curiosity became a career.
2014 — My First Professional Experience
My first professional role was as a Content Writer & Social Media Administrator at TEAMnxl>, one of Indonesia's leading eSports organizations at the time.Working in the competitive gaming industry introduced me to professional content creation, community engagement, and the exciting world of Counter-Strike tournaments. It also strengthened my communication skills while allowing me to combine two passions: technology and gaming.
2016 — Freelance Software Developer
Driven by my passion for programming, I started freelancing as a software developer.
Using VB.NET, Crystal Reports, DevExpress, and SQL Server, I developed desktop-based Point of Sale (POS) systems and custom business applications for small businesses.
This experience taught me an important lesson that still guides me today:
Technology should solve problems, not create them.
Understanding user needs became just as important as writing code.
2017–2022 — Growing Beyond Technology
In 2017, I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science.
Although my career temporarily took me outside the IT industry, my passion for programming never faded. I worked in accounting, wholesale operations, retail, and food & beverage management while continuing to learn software development during my spare time.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I co-founded a screen-printing business and later managed daily operations at a friend's café.
These experiences taught me valuable lessons in leadership, finance, communication, customer service, and business operations. They helped me understand that technology is only valuable when it supports people and business goals.
2023 — Returning to the IT Industry
2023 became one of the most significant milestones in my career. I joined Stella Maris Hospital as an IT Specialist, beginning my first full-time professional career in IT.
Working in healthcare exposed me to an entirely different scale of challenges, including:
- Hospital Information Systems (HIS)
- Software development
- Database administration
- Network engineering
- Server management
- Cybersecurity
- Technical support
- System integration
At the same time, I also served as Freelance Operational Manager at Rise Up Basketball Academy, managing finances, operations, and communication with parents.
Balancing both roles strengthened my leadership, time management, and decision-making skills.
2024–2026 — Leading Technology
As my responsibilities continued to grow, I was honored with the opportunity to become Head of IT. Today, I lead the hospital's IT department, overseeing both strategic planning and technical implementation.
My responsibilities include:
- Leading software development projects
- Managing Hospital Information Systems (HIS)
- Network architecture and infrastructure
- Cybersecurity and IT governance
- Database optimization and reporting
- API and third-party system integration
- Server virtualization and infrastructure
- IT operations and service management
- Vendor coordination
- Team leadership and mentoring
One of the projects I'm most proud of is contributing to the hospital's digital transformation by building solutions that improve operational efficiency while supporting better patient care.
Although my role has evolved into leadership, I still enjoy writing code, designing databases, automating workflows, and learning new technologies. Staying hands-on keeps me connected to the work that inspired me to pursue this career in the first place.
Beyond Work
Outside the office, I'm always looking for opportunities to learn and create.
Some of my interests include:
- 💻 Software Engineering
- 🌐 Networking & Infrastructure
- 🤖 Artificial Intelligence
- 🔐 Cybersecurity
- 🏥 Healthcare Technology
I believe technology changes every day—and that's exactly what makes this industry exciting.
